This page shows major locations across Zimbabwe that appear in Sekuru’s Stories.
Reflecting Sekuru Chigamba’s Korekore origins, many of these locations are concentrated in a crescent-shaped area spanning the current administrative provinces of Mashonaland West and Mashonaland Central. The sacred site of Chirorodziva constitutes the south-western tip of this crescent, while the rural region of Rushinga demarcates its north-eastern tip.
Yet another cluster of points on the map lie outside this crescent. These include three locations – Gadzema, Madzongwe, and Harare – that mark the young Sekuru Chigamba’s journey away his home region of Guruve as a migrant laborer. They also include two rural areas – Chihota and Nyandoro – which represent important sites for mbira performance.
