Sekuru Chigamba pictured with his guitar at the gate of his family’s new home in Damafalls, in early 2020. Sekuru Chigamba first learned to play guitar as a young boy growing up in the rural area of Guruve in the 1950s. While he later dreamed of migrating to the Democratic Republic of Congo (then Zaire) to become a professional rhumba guitarist, he did not resume playing the guitar until the 1990s.
