Image Detail – Father’s Grave

This tree in the rural region of Guruve marks the gravesite of Sekuru Chigamba’s father, Chigamba Tavasika. Sekuru Chigamba’s father was a mukube player, ngoma drummer, and mutapi interpreter for the senior ancestral spirit of Dumbu. As such, he played an important role in the young Chigamba’s musical life.
